Atomic Booking WAITLIST

COMPARISON

ATOMIC BOOKING vs
MICROSOFT BOOKINGS.

Microsoft Bookings is included free with most Microsoft 365 Business plans. If your organisation runs on Microsoft 365 and your customers are happy booking through Microsoft's UI, it's genuinely a free option. We're not free, but we're different in three ways: customer-facing UX, payment processing, and EU/UK sovereignty (Microsoft's data residency depends on your tenant region — ours is guaranteed).

THE STRUCTURAL ARGUMENT

WHY THE PRICE DIFFERENCE EXISTS.

Microsoft Bookings is "free" if you're already paying for Microsoft 365 Business — but the customer-facing experience is dated, payments aren't built in, and the data residency situation depends on your tenant region. We charge £5 a month and you get a modern booking experience, native paid bookings, and guaranteed UK/EU hosting.

Payment method Fee on £100 Net to merchant
Stripe (most US schedulers) £3.10 £96.90
Mollie iDEAL / Bancontact £0.29 £99.71
Wero (via Mollie) £0.25–0.40 £99.65+
SEPA Direct Debit (GoCardless) 1% capped at £4 £99.00

That ~3% gap on every paid booking is the structural saving we pass on. Software margin doesn't depend on cutting features — it depends on cutting card-processor rent.

HONEST TAKE

When Microsoft Bookings is the better choice.

We're not the right answer for everyone. Microsoft Bookings is the better choice if:

  • You're fully committed to the Microsoft 365 ecosystem
  • You don't take paid bookings (Microsoft Bookings doesn't process payments)
  • You don't mind the basic Microsoft-branded booking page UX
  • You need it free and you're already paying for M365

For everyone else — solo professionals, EU/UK teams, agencies, and anyone who's quietly uncomfortable with American SaaS — keep reading.
